Halloween 4: The Return Of Michael Myers.

Ten years ago he changed the face of Halloween. Tonight HE'S BACK.

It's been ten years after Haddonfield was last haunted by Michael Myers. Laurie Strode is supposedly dead and she has left behind a six year old daughter Jamie Lloyd. She's never seen or known her mother before but she'll get the closest thing - her evil uncle. Michael has been in a coma for the last ten years, after the explosive end of Part 2. He awakes on October 30th 1988 after hearing that he has a niece and escapes one night while being transferred to a new institution. Jamie's only hope is Sam Loomis, who also survived the explosion at the end of part 2. Can Loomis finally stop Michael Myers from killing again?

Donald Pleasence - Dr. Sam Loomis
Danielle Harris - Jamie Lloyd
Ellie Cornell - Rachel Corruthers
Beau Starr - Sheriff Ben Meeker
Michael Pataki - Dr. Hoffman
Kathleen Kinmont - Kelley Meeker
Sasha Jenson - Brady
Gene Ross - Earl
Carmen Filpi - Rev. Jackson Sayer
Geroge Wilbur - The Shape

Dwight Little - Director
Alan B. McElroy - Writer
Paul Freeman - Producer
Alan Howarth - Music
Moustapha Akkad - Executive Producer

HalloweeN 4: The Return Of Michael Myers

Well first off OK, part 4 in a never-ending film franchise. You may be thinking Oh my God could it get any worse? But no not me. HalloweeN 4 is a really good (and the best) fourth instalment to a film franchise ever.
Michael Myers is in a coma for 10 years after that unforgettable night of October 31st 1978. Its October 30th 1988 and Michael is being moved from Ridgmont County Sanatorium to Smiths Grove. (Nice night to decide to transfer Michael). Michael wakes after overhearing that he has a young niece living in Haddonfield and escapes to journey back for another night of unholy terror.
The film is directed by Dwight H. Little (who turned down the opportunity to direct Hall8weeN) and I really have to give this man credit for bringing back a dying series after the dismal HalloweeN 3: Season Of The Witch (which I dont refer to or mention).
Little manages to bring back the shock and suspense in the film but also incorporates it with new ideas. For example I loved the scene with the cop in the rocking chair where it turns out its not really the cop but Michael (If youre not sure of what I mean watch the damn film!)
Donald Pleasence once again shined as the obsessed Dr Loomis. Yes hes back with his speeches but you gotta love it. I also couldnt go without mentioning young Danielle Harris who does absolutely brilliantly as Jamie Lloyd the niece of Michael. She is a very talented actress and only about 11 or 12 years old in the film. Where is she now?
George P. Wilbur plays Michael Myers in this outing and of all the actors who have portrayed The Shape Wilbur is my favourite. Very slow and rhythmic which is just how he should be. Wilbur also plays Michael in HalloweeN 6: The Curse Of Michael Myers. Bring him back!
Overall believe it or not a good, believable story and a spectacular finale. If I can criticise one thing though it would be that Michael should have died at the end of this film (dont hate me Mike fans!) or that it shouldnt have ended like it did to save us from the poorly thought out start sequence of HalloweeN 5: The Revenge Of Michael Myers.
Good acting, good lighting, good deaths, good film. 8/10

Young Danielle Harris at about 11 or 12 years old in HalloweeN 4.
